Kitchen
The kitchen is the most central room in many people’s homes. This is where the family meets both in the morning and evening and that puts large demand on the lighting of the room.
No matter if you have an old or a new kitchen it is important with good light to work in. beautiful and effectual lighting can just as easily give an old kitchen a facelift.
Kitchen table and wall cupboards
Over the worktop we recommend pendant lamps or internally fitted spots. It is good to place them so they light up the workspace. With these lamps the shadows are reduced during cooking and thereby increase the safety.
If there are wall cupboards above the worktop it may be practical with externally/ internally fitted spots or pendant lamps. Pendant lamps are easy to hang in an existing kitchen.
The dining table
If you have an all-purpose family room the light can be divided into two functions. Partly a soft and cosy lighting over the dining table that gives a calm and intimate mood when you eat and talk. In the rest of the kitchen, especially above the work table, it is necessary with well-lit, clear and practical lighting so you can see what you are working with without problems, even during the dark months of the year.
Over the dining table we recommend one or more pendant lamps. The lamp should shade so the light does not bother the eyes – but at the same time the light must stream feely onto the table. The distance between table and lamp should be min. 50-60 cm. Over the dining table it is a good idea to choose halogen light bulbs or energy-efficient light bulbs with a warm white light as they replicate the beautiful colours of the food and give a perfect, clear light without ruining the cosy atmosphere. In general, lights should be placed at eye/sitting level so you do not look directly into a light source when you are sitting down. You get cosy lighting when light is thrown downward, never upward to the ceiling.
Halogen and energy-efficient light bulbs
We carry a wide range of internally fitted spots specially developed for the kitchen.
Our bestseller ”Recess” is available with three different light sources: halogen, LED and energy-efficient light bulb.
Halogen light has the advantage that it is very white and replicates colours correctly. If you choose LED (Light Emitting Diodes) you get very low energy consumption while still getting a good light quality. Notice especially ”Evo”, an internally fitted spot with only one Hi-Power 4W Diode in it. The traditional energy-efficient light bulbs are available in new, exciting shapes and colour temperatures and also fit spots with small halogen sockets.
Our range of energy-efficient light bulbs has a warm white light (2700 Kelvin degrees) and saves 80% of the energy consumption compared to a halogen or incandescent bulb.
