Livingroom
There are many factors that play a role when you have to pick lighting for your living room. For example the size, degree of and angle of diffusion. Furthermore the effect of the light bulbs and colour replication are also important for the lighting of the room. It is also important where the light sources are placed so the best possible result is achieved. Our wellbeing, especially during the winter, depends very much on good lighting indoors.
The dining table
Over the dining table we recommend one or more pendant lamps. The lamp should shade so the light does not bother the eyes – but at the same time the light must stream feely onto the table. The distance between table and lamp should be min. 50-60 cm. Over the dining table it is a good idea to choose halogen light bulbs or energy-efficient light bulbs with a warm white light as they replicate the beautiful colours of the food and give a perfect, clear light without ruining the cosy atmosphere. In general, lights should be placed at eye/sitting level so you do not look directly into a light source when you are sitting down. You get cosy lighting when light is thrown downward, never upward to the ceiling.
Reading lamp
For reading we recommend a lamp, e.g. floor or wall lamp where the direction of light can be adjusted easily. Halogen light is perfect for reading as it has a good spot effect and high light quality. We also carry several spot lamps with energy-efficient light bulbs. These lamps have the same qualities as the halogen lamp while at the same time giving large savings in energy.
It is also a good idea to use a reading lamp with light dimmer. That way the reading lamp can quickly change from utility lamp to cosy lighting.
Lighting for effect
In corners and for lighting in bookcases you can choose a lamp with energy-efficient light bulbs with advantage. Either floor, table or spot lamps. With these light sources you save up to 80% energy, so the lamps can be on all night without having large energy consumption.
Lighting of one or more pictures or large plants often gives a beautiful effect. Here you can choose internally fitted spots or spot lamps that are mounted in the ceiling.
